The Blessing of Pregnancy

I received a very sweet gift from a dear friend of mine that talks about the miracles of motherhood. I found a wonderful poem that I felt expressed alot of my daily thoughts about the anticipated arrival of our son. I hope you find it as touching as I did.

HELLO

little one,
mystery guest
lodging in my womb.
I await your appearance
with great impatience.

Do you hear
my voice as I sing
a lullaby and rock
you in your perfect cocoon?

Will you have my eyes
and your father's ears?
I wonder, as you send ripples
across my universe.
I am humbled by God
for this perfect gift, you.

Snap--Crackle--POP!!!

So it has been 20 weeks now since I got pregnant. I can't believe that we are actually half way through this process...it seems to be flying by which is SCARY!!! (but in a great way)

In the last week I have noticed that the bump I had on my tummy has since POPPED into a basketball. It is so true what they say that boys carry all in the front and very round. Seriously I think you could start dribbling down a basketball court with the ball on my belly.

Not that I am not excited to be showing off the growth in my belly but seriously this means I have to spend more money on clothes. THANK GOD for the belly belt. That has been my life saver for the past 20 weeks and I wish I could just wear it until this boy decides to come out.

In case anyone is wondering about the recent bra drama!!! I am wearing my new one today!! YEAH! However, I will go on the record that this will not last me through the pregnancy; but for now my fun bags are happy and secure.

Also, I am not sure if any of you watch The Secret Life of an American Teenager but on last night's episode she is about to give birth to her son. (She is only fifteen; great family show) Her mother (played by Molly Ringwald) asks her daughter what she is planning on naming her baby boy. Her daughter looked at her in shock and said I thought you or dad would name him. I mean I am a minor and that is a big decision....a life decision that will be with my son forever. How can I possibly be the person in charge of choosing that name. THAT IS HOW I FEEL!!!!!

Bra Drama Continues

So I got my new bra in the mail yesterday from Nordstrom's...and of course IT DID NOT FIT!!! Who knew that not every bra is sized the same; can we say CONFUSING!!! I just thought that if you need something larger than a D you go to the E? I mean that is how the alphabet flows.

But I was way wrong...in fact the brand I bought size E is smaller than the current size I wear. CRAZY. So, after a 20 minute entertaining conversation with Nordstrom's customer service department...I have a new bra on the way. I will say that if you ever have to deal with an issue over the phone with a company...Nordstrom's customer service is TOP NOTCH!!

So in 4-6 business days we should have a new over the shoulder boulder holder and let's pray it fits or else the saga will continue.

The Pressure of A Name!!

I am not sure if you all remember the part in Pretty Woman when Julia Roberts asks her co-star for the name of someone who had a happy ending....her co-star began to say "The pressure of a name!" This line is so fitting to me when I start thinking about what we are going to name our pressure baby boy.

You want a name that people will remember, but you don't want a name that people will make fun of. You want to ask others for their opinion, but then it makes you begin to 2nd guess your own thoughts of what you have chosen.

Not to mention that this is something that is permanent; unless you are Miley Cyrus and do an official name change. It is almost like you are already creating your child's future by just the picking of the perfect name. PRESSURE!!!

But what an exciting time and a great way for Clay and I to bond and also disagree. :) :) What couple doesn't during this process.

Did I tell you how excited I am that I am having a baby boy!!

Someday A DDD Will Choo-Choo-Choose A Guy Like Me!

Hopefully by the header you have figured it out!! We are having a Boy. We will be passing down the Coleman name. Clay and I could not be more thrilled about finding out!

I was so sure it was a boy going into the doctor that I even wore a blue polo. While we watched the images of our baby on the screen I kept saying, "Look at his hands, I mean if it is a boy." Then she asked if we wanted to know. UM YEAH!! The showed us the right leg, then the left leg, and finally the THIRD leg. He was very excited to show us his manhood. I will admit I had some tears in my eyes.

I am going to try to upload the DVD and photos that we got from the doctor but it may take me a few days. In the meantime I thought you would all enjoy seeing the first Tri Delta shirt I bought for my baby boy!! He may not be able to be a Tri Delta...but I will do my best to make sure he marries one:)

What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails,And puppy dog tails,
That's what little boys are made of.

I can't wait for a breast reduction

So I had an embarrassing experience at the maternity store this weekend. I went in to buy a new bra that would be more comfortable with the changes going on with my body. However, I have since learned that they do not make bras in my size at the maternity store.

The sales associate took my measurements and let out an "Oh, I am sorry, we don't carry bras that big" She recommended that I go to a department store. (Macy's, Dillard's, or Nordstroms) How is it that a store that is supposed to be focused on women with growing breast do not go above a 36D bra size. I know I am not the only expectant women with this issue and I think that the companies need to be notified in order to let them know that they should make larger sizes accessible to their customers. In a way I feel a bit discriminated against.

I will save myself more embarrassment by not telling you all my current size, but I wanted to share my frustrations. So I am off to the department store in hopes to find the perfect bra to wear during the remainder of my pregnancy.

I will also begin the planning stages of a nice reduction and lift as soon as I am done with my breastfeeding duties.
