Here Comes Santa Claus

Okay, I know I am supposed to be all excited that this jolly fat man is going to come see me on Christmas and bring me lots of cool presents but I am just not sure that him and I are going to get along. Mommy thought it would be good for me to meet the man himself, Santa, as they call him before the actual big day.

Mommy told me that boys and girls typically have a brief visit with him before he comes on Christmas. They tell him they have been good little boys and girls and what they want for Christmas.

So mommy took me out to meet 'Ole Jolly St. Nick a few weeks ago and needless to say...not a fan. I mean hello...PERSONAL SPACE. Look at him trying to touch me. Not cool dude...not cool.

Mommy seemed upset that I was not really digging the man in the red jump suit so I after a bit of negotiating (mommy gave me a candy cane) I decided to cut the rosy cheeked old man a break and act like we could get along for the sake of my mom.

I am hoping that since I did this for my mommy, a true outward gesture of love, Santa will still bring me those cool toys that mommy keeps telling me about. I guess that Mr. Claus will grow on me as the years pass and maybe we will even have a good mutual understanding. I will be good and he will bring the toys!

Happy Holidays from my family to yours!!! Oh yea, and have a good New Year!

The Season of Giving

This is the season of giving according to my mom. She said that we should not expect gifts from others but instead count our blessings and give what we can to others in need. Now don't get me wrong; mommy did promise that Santa Claus is coming to see me and I CAN'T WAIT!!

After thinking a bit about what my mommy was saying that we should not be so focused on what we receive I realized that I had actually already received the best gift a kid my age could ask for. I received my Uncle Matt home from Afghanistan. (this is my mommy's cousin but he is more like a brother to her -- hence Uncle Matt)He is over there fighting the war and has to play with bombs. It is a really dangerous and brave job that he has. So when I got to go with mommy to see him at the airport on Thanksgiving Day; it was the best gift I could have gotten. I don't think Santa can even top that!!

Check out my cool Uncle Matt!!

Growing up...

Mommy and I have been super busy this past month and because of that we have not done a good job in making sure that we keep you all up to date on what has been going on in my life.

School has been going really well. I am starting to learn some spanish and one of my favorite new words is Hola! that means hello. I think it sounds really funny when I say Hola Mommy! HA! even typing it makes me laugh.

I can count to ten and I am learning to recognize all of my numbers when mommy writes them out. I am completely obsessed with Curios George and the man in the yellow hat. I also like buses. Mommy and I count the buses on our way home from school each day.

I am working on pee peeing in the potty and everytime I do at home I get a sticker. I have alot of stickers and I even got a REALLY BIG sticker for going poop in the potty. At school my teachers cheer me on and they think that by Christmas I might have it totally mastered.

Well this past month had one of my favorite holidays in it. HALLOWEEN!! I had so much fun trick or treating, dressing up, and even having a parade at school. This year mommy got me a super cool costume of a lion. Did you know that a lion goes ROAR!!

Check me out!!

I was the PURRfect lion!!

A Day at the Zoo

Sunday morning may have been the best day so far of my life...okay probably not but I was so living in the moment and due to that I am going to say it was!

Mommy took me to the zoo so that I could see all of the animals. I had gone back in March but I was just a kid then. I was not even able to do some of the big kid things. This time was a different story. This time I got to do a lot in the children's zoo...umhum...big boy zoo and see so many wild animals.

I got to feed some wild birds, ride the pony, go on stage for a bird act with my mommy, walk through the Savannah, see a baby giraffe, drive a safari jeep, ride on an elephant, and I rode on a train. Well you will just have to watch this adventure to see what I mean on how AWESOME it truly was! Enjoy

A Different Kind of Milestone

About a month ago I had an ear infection and was feeling, well poopy. I had to stay home from school for about 3 days and it was not that much fun because I missed all my friends from school. Mommy told me that no matter what I had to go back to school on my 4th day because I was going to have my picture made.

As poopy as I was feeling that did not sound like much fun to me. Considering mommy had a kleenex in my face every few minutes I did not see how I would be presentable for a picture.

So the morning of picture day I opened my eyes as I layed in bed. I assessed the situation of how bad I really felt. Suprisingly I felt great. I guess that all of that liquid junk mommy was shoving down my throat really worked. Mommy came bouncing in that morning and I kept thinking this picture day thing must be a big deal. She had picked out my outfit the night before and was so excited she even made sure they were pressed. Daddy was even involved this day and made sure my hair had just the right amount of gel in it. (Seriously did not know picture day was such a big deal) I heard mommy telling daddy that picture day at school can really make or break a kid as they get older. She was telling them that kids are mean and that they will tease other kids just because they don't have the PERFECT picture. Overhearing that made me sad and I immediately told myself I would never make fun of a kid with a bad picture. However, I also secretly prayed that I did not have a bad picture myself. Who knows if the other kids had made the same vow I just had.

So off to school I went and about a week later.........

My pictures came in and they weren't bad at all. I am already looking forward to next year's picture day. It was really so much fun!

Early Preschool Here I Come!

So on Monday of this week I graduated from Toddler 2 to Early Preschool. I am moving on up the ladder of getting my edge-a-ma-cation. In this class I get to learn Spanish, play music, going to the potty in a potty (like I am practicing at home), and eat lunch with all my friends.

An added bonus is that Sam and I are reunited. Sam was in my class when I first started Primrose but got moved up before me. I will say I had a bit of a void in my heart for my long lost friend. During our separation I made a new friend with a young boy named Cash. He is also in my new class. Maybe we can become the three musketeers. This is a story of friends that my mommy tells me about.

I have also recently fallen in love with Dinosaur Train. If you have not watched it...it is super cool. Even mommy likes it. We are always singing "Dinosaur Train Choo Choo"

I have also started doing some modeling. Daddy took a picture of me that we are going to use for mommy's work. Maybe a talent scout will see it and make me famous.

I am 2 Years Old

Did you know that Ahoy Mates means hello friends? I just learned that this year because I got to have a pirate party for my 2nd birthday. It was so cool. My girlfriend Taylor got me a really cool pirate hat that I got to wear. She really loves me.
Mommy made me some really cool cupcakes that had swords and gold coins on them. YUMMY and then she let me give each of my buckaroos their very own treasure chest for of many surprises. Not only did I get some cool treasures but so did my furry friends at the SPCA of Texas. Mom and dad told me that it is very important that we put others first and I thought who better to put before me than cats and dogs. So I asked all my buckaroos to bring a donation that I could give in turn to the shelter. Here is a video of me delivering all the cool goodies.

Mommy also let me design a really cool thank you note to send to all my guest. Check out my cool work

Summer Fun

Well I can't believe that it is already summer time. I have been going to school for about four months and it is so much fun. We are learning so much stuff. I really like all my teachers and all of my friends.

Even though I love to learn new things I also love to still just play. Mommy, Daddy, and I are always finding fun stuff for me to do outside. Here are just a few of my favorite summer time activities.

SWINGING IN THE PARK

PLAYING WITH MY PINWHEEL

CLIMBING IN THE TUNNELS AT THE PARK

What are some of your favorite things to do during the summer? I would love to hear from all my fans!

I go to school!

I started school and it has been a crazy adventure. I am a proud student of PrimRose three days a week. I thought I would just take a moment to tell you all how it is going and share some pictures of me.

On my first day I got to use my backpack that Honey and PawPaw got me. It has my name on it. Cool huh? The school gave me a bag to use but it was not ready for me to take yet. Mommy was getting my name on it. Secretly I was happy because I really wanted to use my backpack from Honey & PawPaw.

I got to wear a cool pair of jeans and a button up shirt on my first day. Mommy said I needed to dressup a bit and we could wear my rocker clothes on my second day.

Check out all of my cool classmates. I have already made lots of friends. They are all very nice and super smart. They know sign language and all these really cool songs. They can name things that our teacher holds up for us to look at each day. I hope to become as smart as them.

On my very first day of school we did an arts and crafts project. We got to paint fishes. I think mine is truly a work of art. Mommy said she would hang it up in my room.

By the end of my first day I was worn out and snotty nosed. Mommy came to get me thought it would be funny to take my picture. Just remember mommy; pay backs are worse.

This past week at school mommy got to come and visit because they did a parent program to show our mommies and daddies all that we are learning. If you listen closely to this video you will hear me say "juice" my favorite word. (i did not know the words to the song so I could not sing along)

Together mommy and I made a sunflower during arts and crafts. It too will go on my wall.

At the end of the day mommy got a great suprise. She received a note from my teacher that I had a great day. She got a "Happy Gram".

So even though my first day ended a bit rocky...I am a very happy student and can't wait to see my new friends again.

A gift that keeps on giving

Mommy tells me everyday that I should remember others in need that may need more help than we do. This month mommy said that Tri Delta is celebrating St. Jude Month and she is asking all of her friends to make donations to support the cause.

I have decided that I wanted to also join in the fight and ask all of my fans to help out as well.

Did you know:
St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the nation’s top children’s cancer hospital, according to the 2010-11 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings published by U.S. News & World Report.

St. Jude has developed protocols that have helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to 80 percent today.

The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.6 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions.

During the past five years, 81 cents of every dollar received has supported the research and treatment at St. Jude.

Owen's HOT Valentines!!!

Today is a day that we are suppose to let people know how much we love and appreciate them. Well I LOVE TAYLOR!!! So today I asked her to come on a lunch date with me. (and our mommies of course). Mommy took me to the store so I can get Taylor some tokens of my affection. I chose a super cute monkey (her favorite animal) and a small box of chocolate. Mommy had said once that chocolate is one of a girl's favorite things. Here I am on my way to meet her for lunch.

We agreed upon meeting at Benny's Bagels near both of our homes. It was such a beautiful day that we opted to also sit outside.

The gentleman that I am; I offered Taylor the highchair and I sat in the BIG BOY chair. I wanted to show her that even though I may be younger in age; I was the man she needed in her life.

She showed me that she loved me too by giving me this sweet message that I could put on my door to be reminded of her love everyday. It says, " I CHOO CHOO CHOOSE YOU!!"

I am SO LUCKY!

SNOW DAYor should I say SNOW WEEK

Mommy, daddy, and I have been stuck at home all week. There is all this ice on the ground and mommy said we can't go anywhere because it is dangerous. To me it just looks pretty; how could that be dangerous.

Needless to say I am even starting to get cabin fever. There are only so many toys and shows a young boy can watch before boredom does kick in. Mommy tried to teach me how to color; but I could not master holding that crayon. I did however, master carrying three around in my hand. HA!

Well this morning we woke up to another snow day but this time it REALLY WAS SNOW!!! Mommy said we got about half a foot of snow. I kept thinking...who's foot did we get? I am so confused.

My super cool neighbor made a sled for her little girls and I decided to give it a go. Check me out! (mommy is doing the commentary...DORK)

I am 18 months....and loving it!!!

Well first let me start this off with the fact that I have not been very loyal to my fans this past month or so. You see now that I am a big boy; the holiday season is much more intense and exciting. Before I knew it, we were already in the New Year. So here is a bit of a back story from my 2010 Christmas experience.

I got some awesome toys, lots of cool clothes, got to see alot of my family and friends, and o yeah...I got RSV. I was sick for most of the month and it was miserable. Thank goodness for my Granny Pam and Dr. J-they made me all better.

I was determined to get all better because a big day was on the horizon in the New Year. I turned 18 months. I feel like I am a whole new person and can accomplish anything because I am such a big boy now.

Did you know that I weigh 25.8lbs, am 32" tall, have a 19" head circumference, wear a size 5 shoe, wear all 18 months clothes-rocker inspired, of course, wear size 4 diapers, and have all my teeth. Dr. J said I am right on schedule for my age. (Mommy was very proud)

Now that I have reached this milestone I thought that I would share some of my favorite things with you that I am enjoying at this wonderful age:

My favorite food right now is Crustables (PB&J)

It is messy though

but oh so yummy...mmm just lick those fingers!

I love taking baths and being able to run around the house with my hood towel on my head butt naked.

Mommy would not let me post a naked picture of myself.

I love playing right before I go to bed because it stimulates my imagination and man...those dreams to follow.

I also love my curly curly hair. I think it is soo cool and makes me unique from my peers. It might be my signature piece when I become a rock star!

These are just a few of my favorite things; there are so many to choose from. Stay tuned and I promise that I will be better on keeping you guys up-to-date on my awesome life.
